Three Principles to Live By

Don’t Rush -Scammers frequently employ tactics to create a sense of urgency, aiming to override your better judgment. Counteract this by taking your time and posing questions to avoid succumbing to pressure in potentially harmful situations.

Verify the details — Conduct thorough research to validate the information you receive. If faced with an unexpected phone call, disconnect and independently look up the purported bank, agency, or organization. Initiate direct contact to confirm the authenticity of the communication.

Hold back – Refrain from sending money — Legitimate individuals or organizations never insist on immediate payment. Scammers often pressure victims to purchase gift cards, which are intended for gifting and not as a form of coerced payment. If a payment request seems suspicious, it likely is.
